3 of Chicago’s Best Attractions to Visit This Season

This past weekend gave us just a taste of summer with temperatures in the 80s! Beautiful weekends like this make Chicago come alive and remind us why our city is so great. Even though we still have some time before it warms up for the summer, here are great outings to keep in mind for the chilly, raining weekends in between.

The Field Museum

Opened in March, Specimens: Unlocking the Secrets of Life will run until January 2018. In this Special Exhibit, wind your way through 30 million specimens and artifacts that scientists use and study to make new discoveries and explore our world.

The Tattoo exhibit has been extended until September 4, 2017, as it has been a huge success. This exhibit explores the meaning of tattoos, artistic styles, tools and global traditions. Live Tattoo Demos bring the exhibit to life – performed by master artists from all over the country.

Shedd Aquarium

Starting in June and running through September, spend your Wednesday evenings Jazzin’ at the Shedd! From 5 – 10PM, enjoy Jazz, cocktails, fireworks and more along the Lakefront at the Shedd.

Make time to checkout the featured exhibit – Amphibians. Showcasing 40 different species of frogs, toads and salamanders, this exhibit is sure to peak your interest. Learn about their habits and how climate change is disrupting their homes.

Adler Planetarium

Have you checked out Adler After Dark? If you haven’t, you should add this to your summer to-do list! This special access offers you an exclusive look at Adler Planetarium, exhibits, shows and an incredible view of Chicago after hours. This special access is offered every third Thursday of the month from 6-10PM for adults 21 and older.
