St. Patrick’s Day is always a festive time in Chicago! There are events and activities for all ages and interests. Check out our list of 5 things to do this St. Patrick’s Day:
Chicago River Dyeing
Probably one of the most fun activities in Chicago and something we’re known for is the Chicago River Dyeing. If you haven’t been before, we highly recommend stopping by to see the fun! Line up along the Chicago River March 11 at 9AM to see the River dyed green for St. Patrick’s Day. Don’t worry, the dye used is eco-friendly and only lasts for about 5 hours – so don’t miss out!
St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Following the River Dyeing, head down to Columbus and Monroe for the 62nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade at 12PM. Put on your best green ensemble and dance along with the Irish bagpipes, dancers and bands!
Chicago Neighborhood Festivals
Looking for even more fun? Head to one of the many neighborhoods celebrating. Head over to the Irish American Heritage Center, the South Side Irish Parade or Northwest Side Irish Parade.
Wendella’s St. Patrick’s Day Cruise
Hop on the Wendella’s site-seeing cruise for not only a beautiful perspective of the city, but also for a close-up look of the freshly dyed river! Tickets are $60 per person from 9-11AM. Full bar and festive Irish music included!
Spirit of Chicago Cruise
For a more relaxing afternoon, consider the Spirit of Chicago Afternoon Lunch Cruise. Starting at 3PM, enjoy a relaxing cruise in Lake Michigan while you enjoy corned beef, cabbage, green beer, music and dancing!
